Add useful QR links to appointment cards

Choose between booking links, contact details and directions without exposing appointment information.

Choose one clear task

A small appointment card should make the next action obvious. Link to a public booking page for rescheduling, use a phone code to start a call, or link to a directions page. Label the result precisely: “Manage a booking” is clearer than an unexplained square.

Do not encode a customer's medical details, private appointment notes or a signed account-access link on a card. A QR image can be copied, forwarded or scanned by someone other than the intended recipient. For sensitive account actions, use your established authenticated booking system.

Example: a service appointment card

Assume you maintain a public booking page on your own website. Open it in a private browser window first. Verify that visitors see the intended starting page rather than your staff dashboard. Choose Website in Waterlil and encode that public address.

  1. Place the QR on the card with “Book or reschedule online”.
  2. Include a readable website address and business phone number as alternatives.
  3. Keep the code separate from handwritten appointment dates so ink cannot cover the white margin.
  4. Print and scan a proof after the card has been cut to its final size.
  5. Test the destination on a phone and finish only the steps appropriate for a test booking.

Phone and email options

A phone code stores a telephone URI and generally asks a compatible device to open its dialing interface. An email code can prefill a recipient, subject and message in a configured email application. Neither action guarantees that a call will connect or an email will be sent. A phone without an email app may behave differently from a desktop scanner.

Avoid overloading a small card

If you need directions, opening hours, booking and contact information together, consider one concise public landing page on your own website. Link the QR to that page instead of placing several nearly identical codes together. Keep the page readable and make its main action easy to find.

Review before reprinting

Check the public contact details and booking destination whenever you order more cards. The downloaded Waterlil code has no built-in expiry, but it will continue pointing to the same address even if your service moves.
